| Le musée historique d'Abomey, qui est sous la tutelle de la Direction du Patrimoine culturel du Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication, a été créé en 1943 par l'administration coloniale franÁaise. Il occupe l'aile du site palatial constituée des palais des rois Guézo et Glèlè, soit une superficie de deux hectares environ. L'ensemble du site des palais occupe 44 hectares et est inscrit sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO depuis 1985. C'est un haut lieu d'histoire, de culture vivante et de tourisme. The Abomey Historical Museum, under the tutelage of the Ministry of Culture and Communications, Direction of Cultural Heritage, was created by the French colonial administration in 1943. With a surface of about 5 acres, it is situated on the palatial site and comprises the palaces of King Guézo and King Glèlè. The entire palatial site extends over approximately 108 acres and has been on UNESCO's World Heritage list since 1985. It is a culmination of history, living culture and tourism. |
